Local fishing boat + local crew. Simple setup, serious seamanship.

No chasing, no touching, no crossing paths. We position ahead and wait.

🤝 Fit-check before confirmation

Surprises on the water

Timor-Leste sits in the Coral Triangle — a global hotspot of marine biodiversity. Encounters vary, but "just whales" is rarely the full story.

Dolphins
Dolphins are frequent companions. If conditions are safe and calm, swimming can be possible.

What else can appear?

  • Whale sharks
  • Sea turtles
  • Manta rays
  • Sperm whales
  • "Unexpected moments" (birds, bait balls, currents, light)

Some surveys around Timor-Leste (e.g., Atauro area) have even been described as among the most biodiverse reef waters recorded — which matches what you feel out there.

Why Timor-Leste?

Between September and November, Timor-Leste becomes one of the best places on Earth to encounter pygmy blue whales.
